Drawdown
The term “drawdown” is used in the energy and environmental sectors to refer to the reduction of the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. This can be achieved through reducing greenhouse gas emissions, capturing and storing carbon, or reducing the concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere through technologies such as bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS). Drawdown is an important goal in the fight against climate change.
